Zimgems Fly Out To Uganda For Friendly In Prep For Worldcup Tournament

London, (News of The South)- Zimgems, the Zimbabwe national netball team on Friday travelled to Uganda for a friendly match as part of their Worldcup preparations.

Zimbabwe’s team of the moment Zimgems are in the process of preparing for the July netball Worldcup tournament to be held in Liverpool July 12 – 21.

UK Zimnetball Association is also hosting several events to fundraise and support the team for when they arrive in the UK first week of July. The programme includes selling items to fundraise at the Heritage Cultural stall in Northampton on May 18, Dinner on May 25 in Liverpool, Pay to play netball tournament on June 1 in Birmingham, UK Zim Athletics Day on June 15 in Leicester and a meet and greet session and welcome dinner on the day the team arrives.

The UK Committee is made up of professionals from different fields namely Barbara Siyachitema, Eugene Majuru, Tomson Chauke, Pardon Tapfumanei, Loveness Taibu, Kuda Ruzane and Blessing Madzamba.

Following a video release by Josie Svova highlighting challenges being faced by Zimgems several corporates stepped forward to support the team. They include Croco Motors through Wesley Chingwena who provided their official transport & Mavis M. Mataranyika & Ladies Circle made sure each girl had a goodie bag with every girls needs.
