NEWS OF THE SOUTH | ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Luton , United Kingdom – African culture, music, dance and heritage will take centre stage in Luton on Saturday, 31 October 2026, as Mabiko Integrated Arts presents Mabiko Celebrate Africa 2026, a cultural celebration bringing together artists, performers and lovers of African traditions.

The event, scheduled to take place at Venue 360, 20 Gipsy Lane, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU1 3JH, promises an evening of entertainment, cultural pride and artistic expression, with guests encouraged to embrace the theme of African royalty.

The celebrations will begin at 5pm and continue until late, offering an opportunity for African communities and friends of Africa to come together in a colourful display of music, dance, fashion and cultural identity.

Renowned cultural artist and performer Tsungai Tsikirai will host the event, bringing her experience in African arts and entertainment to a celebration designed to showcase the richness and diversity of the continent’s cultural heritage.

Tsikirai, who is also among the advertised artists, is expected to play a central role in guiding audiences through the evening’s entertainment and creating an atmosphere that reflects the spirit of African unity and celebration.

The event boasts an exciting line-up of performers, including Otto and The Mutapa Calling, Busi Ncube, Level Up, Qadasi & Maqhinga, Flame Lily Arts and Tsungai Tsikirai.

The selection of artists reflects a blend of musical traditions and contemporary African entertainment, providing audiences with an opportunity to experience different expressions of African creativity.

Busi Ncube, a respected Zimbabwean musician known for her contribution to African music, is among the prominent names expected to grace the occasion. Her participation adds to the event’s appeal, particularly among Zimbabwean music enthusiasts and supporters of traditional African sounds.

The inclusion of Qadasi & Maqhinga further highlights the event’s cross-cultural character, with the South African musical duo known for celebrating traditional sounds and promoting cultural understanding through music.

Otto and The Mutapa Calling, Level Up and Flame Lily Arts will also contribute to the programme, creating a diverse entertainment experience that reflects Africa’s artistic richness.

Beyond music and dance, the event carries a strong cultural message through its dress code, African Royalty, which encourages guests to showcase African traditional attire, royal-inspired fashion and cultural elegance.

The theme is expected to transform the venue into a vibrant celebration of African identity, with colourful garments, traditional designs and regal outfits forming part of the evening’s atmosphere.

At a time when African communities in the diaspora continue to seek ways of preserving their cultural heritage, events such as Mabiko Celebrate Africa provide important platforms for cultural exchange, artistic recognition and intergenerational engagement.

They also create opportunities for African artists based in the United Kingdom and beyond to connect with new audiences while strengthening relationships within diaspora communities.

The celebration is not simply about entertainment but also about recognising the importance of African traditions, languages, music and cultural practices in maintaining a sense of identity away from the continent.

For younger generations born or raised outside Africa, cultural gatherings can provide valuable opportunities to experience the traditions and artistic expressions associated with their ancestral heritage.

The event also offers opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs, with organisers inviting enquiries for sponsorships, business stalls and table bookings.

Tickets are priced at £80 per person, while tables for ten guests are available for £500, offering groups and organisations an opportunity to attend together.

For table bookings, sponsorships and business stalls, interested parties can contact Tsungai on 07470 508032 or Glisabel on 07859 744748.

Organisers are encouraging the public to follow Mabiko Integrated Arts on Instagram and Facebook for further announcements and updates.

As preparations continue for the 31 October celebration, Mabiko Celebrate Africa 2026 is positioning itself as an occasion where African music, cultural heritage, fashion and community spirit will come together under one roof.

With Tsungai Tsikirai hosting and an array of African performers taking to the stage, the Luton gathering promises to be a memorable celebration of the continent’s cultural identity and artistic excellence.
