Zanu PF Launches Wolverhampton Branch And Business Consultative Meeting
England, Wolverhampton. – On Saturday August 2 ZANU PF UK launched the Wolverhampton Branch at a well-organised and well-attended function at the Heritage Centre in Wolverhampton.
The party held yet another watershed inclusive Consultative Meeting and Business Forum looking at building a Zimbabwe wanted by many and identifying key investment opportunities in Zimbabwe and investment options for those Zimbabweans in the Diaspora.
The launch was at attended by members of the Steering Executive Committee to include National Chairman Cde Nick Mangwana and Publicity Secretary Cde Choto.

The launch was also attended by Chairperson of the Kent Branch Cde Agatha Benyera Mararike and Chairman of the South West Branch Cde Alfred Benyera.
The launch witnessed the introduction of the newly elected Wolverhampton Branch Chairman Cde Rondedzerai Matongo who has been tasked with spearheading the mobilisation and growth of the Wolverhampton Branch. He will oversee and be accountable for the party’s Wolverhampton Branch.
Cde Matongo laid out his vision and that of the party in Wolverhampton. He was passionate about ZANUPF structures in the UK and expressed a patriotic desire drive the party and party vision forward. Cde Matongo will be assisted by a strong team which was also presented at the launch.
Cde Lazarus Nyagumbo is the Wolverhampton Branch and has been working closely with the interim leadership to champion the ideals of the party in Wolverhampton and the UK. Cde Nyagumbo has a strong academic background and genuine commitment to the party and Zimbabwean cause.
Cde Nyagumbo will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the party.
Cde Derek Manyanda is the newly elected Political Commissar of the vibrant Wolverhampton Branch and has been working tirelessly mobilising people within the Wolverhampton and setting up structures for the branch’s successful launch.
Cde Timothy Zhakata is the Secretary for Finance and he has been instrumental in mobilising and managing Branch finances for the successful launch on Saturday.
The meeting was held under the relevant banner ‘Building the future we want for a progressive Zimbabwe’ and successfully drew Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom from various professional backgrounds. The Launch meeting was presided over by the ZANU PF UK Chair Cde Nick Mangwana and from the steering committee Cde Itai Choto whose contribution proved invaluable.
Once again ZANU PF UK forged ahead with the progressive approach of effectively combining business with politics. Cde Bernard Bwoni gave a presentation on Investment Opportunities in Zimbabwe. Cde Bwoni’s presentation pointed to Zimbabwe being uniquely enriched with ample agricultural resources, mineral resources, human resources and a sound infrastructure which creates unlimited opportunities for the growth of resource-based industrial undertakings. With vast amounts of fertile agricultural land, large varieties of commercially exploitable mineral deposits, a highly educated and skilled workforce the potential for growth has no bounds.
The Zimbabwe Law recognises the issue of property rights and this is enshrined into the new constitution. It guarantees the right to private ownership and the new Constitution addresses the overall issue of property rights fairly and again in line with international law.
In Zimbabwe foreign investment is valued and the priority sectors for investment include manufacturing, mining and infrastructure development. The country encourages joint ventures with local investors and has one of the most diversified economies in Africa with principle key sectors such as manufacturing, mining, agriculture, services and tourism standing out. It has one of the most developed infrastructures in Sub-Saharan Africa comprising road and rail networks, power generation, telecommunications and distribution networks. There are various opportunities for those in the Diaspora and a list of the investment opportunities was made available to everyone.
The ZANU PF UK Chairman Cde Nick Mangwana spoke passionately about the importance of self-determination and the direction of the party in the UK and as a whole.
Dr Agatha Benyera-Mararike and Cde Mudokwani combined to give an inspiring presentation on Women and Women in Business. Dr Benyera-Mararike, Chairperson of the ZANU PF UK Kent continued with her sterling work in enabling and empowering women in the UK. She said that together women are powerful and she spoke educating the women is essentially educating a nation. She said that the ZANU PF UK branch was endowed with skills and the idea was about harnessing those skills to enable and empower people to move on.
The Youth League Chairperson Cde Mangere gave an uplifting presentation and his experiences when he travelled to Zimbabwe recently and met up with senior party officials.
Special Guest of Honour Cde Mushambadoro also gave a stimulating talk on Zimbabwe and false representation of Zimbabwe in the media in the West.
Cde Choto also gave a passionate address on the party and emphasised focus on policy and not personalities.
A question and answer session followed the launch of the Wolverhampton Branch.
The Launch and Business Consultative Meeting was closed by the new Chairman of the ZANU PF UK Wolverhampton Branch Cde Matongo who thanked everyone for the support and for making the event a resounding a success. There was special mention hard-work and spirit of the Wolverhampton Branch which ensured that all those who attended the launch were adequately fed and made to feel at home. It is also important to thank Cde Lawrence Sibangani of the Wolverhampton Branch who was instrumental in ensuring that the all the technical operations were sound throughout.
