Life is a game, and win or fail; they are just the results we get when we play. And even when you are not out playing, by default you lose. That’s just what it is, I didn’t make the rules. Whether you hate it or you love it, o win you have to play the game, and sometimes your strategy may not be yielding you any positive results, which will prompt you to change the game. But how can you change the game if you don’t know what your game changer is?

For people who follow sports, they know that many a times, they have watched a team play and it wasn’t playing well, until a new substitute is introduced and the game changes and by the end of the match, the team wins. Or sometimes, there won’t be any need for a substitute player, the coach just has a few words with his players, give them a few points and they start playing differently. Their game would have been changed there.

People say that you haven’t failed until you quit, sometimes that’s true and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes there are people going against you, and the moment they succeed, they win over you. Which is more like saying you lose. It’s harsh to think of it like that, but it’s the truth nonetheless. Question is what do you do when people are winning over you? Do you continue playing the same old way you have been playing, the same play that got you losing or do you change your play?

Here in Africa, we are more used to playing the losing game. Always complaining about things not going our way, we always have many excuses to give when we lose, which is a lot of times. We don’t have the resources, we are not educated enough, the Europeans are not good to us, the climate has changed, they are just excuses, because some other countries are working under the same conditions that we are and still coming on top. So what should we do, continue playing the victim or change our game so that instead of being victims, we turn ourselves into victors. I think the latter will work well for us.

Life is never fair, and this applies for everyone. The only way to win is to change the game. Sometimes the reason you are not winning is because whatever it is you think you want, whatever it is that you are fighting hard for, you don’t want it bad enough, because if you did, you would have changed your game and transformed yourself into a winner.

If you go through the history books, you will read a lot of people who challenged the status quo, people who changed the way we all live today, people whom, out of their imagination created the most fascinating things we are using today. While others saw the world for what it was, they saw it for what it could be, and devised ways to bridge the gap from what the world was to what they thought it should be and today, the world is a better place than it was.

So what’s your current game strategy? Are you comfortable with the way things are? Afraid to change because you are not ready to face the uncertainty attached with change. If that’s the case, then you need a game changer, one that will take you off that comfort zone and place you into a new zone.

You may want better, and try to get the better things out there. There is nothing bad about that, nothing bad about trying. But to win, you might need to try a little different. They say that stupidity is doing the same old things and expecting different results. It’s time for the game changing strategy to take you to a new level. Don’t just play the game, play to win, and if you haven’t won already, change your game.
