Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South)- Harare – Zimbabweans have expressed mixed sentiments on the appointment of the Presidential Advisory Council.

While some political observers have described President Emmerson Mnangagwa’ s decision to appoint a special advisory council as timely and noble, some analysts think there is no need to appoint such a council. While government officials have indicated that the council reflects Mnangagwa’ s desire to embrace and promote diversity, MDC T spokesperson Linda Masarira is skeptical of the appointment of the council.

“I am just curious about the functions of this Presidential Advisory council? How will it operate? Did the 2019 Budget, cater for their salaries or allowances, if not where are the
funds going to come from?

Do we really need this council yet we have ministers and deputy ministers?” Masarira queried.
