Joburg, South Africa. (News Of The South) – Flamboyant Zimbabwean born film writer and model, Melgin Tafirenyika has completed working on his movie titled ‘My first boyfriend’.
Directed by himself the movie which focuses on marital challenges features leading cast Takura Murapa as Collen, Vimbisai Maruta as Bridget and Beauty Nkomazana as Cindy.
“I am pleased that I have final completed working on this movie after some challenges,” Tafirenyika told News of the South.
“The movie shows how people are living a lie in their daily lives impressing the outside world. There are too many families facing such challenges and through this film I am trying encouraging couples not to live a lie but face reality and seek guidance always when confronted by problems. In the play Collen who is married to Cindy have been married for two years.
“On the outside appearance, their marriage looks colourful but from the actual matter it is the complete opposite. Cindy and Collen’s love is a lie as they both do not have genuine feelings on one another.
This resulted in Collen renting a spare room to his girl friend Bridget so he can have access to her anytime necessary. This has now led to a love triangle which has fatal consequences,” said Tafirenyika.
“There is a line in the film that says marriage these days seems like comes in short term contracts you get married today and tomorrow you divorced,” he added.
Six months ago Tafirenyika released a hit movie called Deep Thought. He successfully burst into limelight after landing his debut film, I Will Marry Myself, proving that local talent can make it anywhere.
Last year he released his second movie Sour Milk where he featured various prominent actors from across African continent.
Sour Milk was directed by award winning, Myre Maramba, co-written by Tafirenyika and Egbuhuzor Anderline Gold a Nigerian writer based in England.
