Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The south) – AFTER successfully hosting man of the moment Alick Macheso last week for their official opening, newly-established leisure spot, Caprive Pub and Grill (former Madangure Night Club) situated at Ziko Shopping Centre in Dema, a few kilometers from Chitungwiza town, will this Saturday be graced by another top-drawer artiste, Suluman Chimbetu.
While it is not an easy feat to lure such big names in the arts scene to a joint that is wholly new in the game, management at Caprive Pub and Grill seem to have gotten the plot right by bringing both Cheso Power and Sulu in a row – and more surprises are beckoning for patrons.
When Extra Basso – as Macheso is fondly called among a whole list of other stage antonyms – performed at the joint last week, he left fans screaming for more hasting to request for his comeback. But little did they know that the personnel at the pub had some surprise act up their sleeves in the form of Sulu, another top-drawer performer in Zimbabwe.
While Cheso Power’s latest offering “Tsoka Dzerwendo” was an obvious favourite with patrons at the joint, this time around it will be Sulu’s chance to prove that he too has what it takes to deserve the honour of being one of Zimbabwe’s Big Five at the moment.
Sulu boasts of a catalogue of hit songs that are set to put Caprive Pub and Grill “burning”” and it will also be none other than the same musician and his Dendera Orchestra Kings outfit to douse out the same fire with his hit songs taken off his current album “Gunship: Fire Guard”.
Director of the pub Chris Mangena said they were happy with the response they were currently receiving from both the artistes as well as their legion of patrons.
He added that more was in store for their patrons.
“More is in store for our patrons who in such a short space of time have shown their allegiance to us. It is our plan to host the top musicians in Zimbabwe and so far we have shown that we can do it by hosting Macheso and Sulu. Our next targets are superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah, Winky D and other artistes from genres such as Zim-Dancehall. This is why this joint was designed into an up market place,” Mangena said.
