By Draxon Maloya.

Malawi has become one of the states joining some countries in the global village where leaders use military power to achieve their political vendetta.

In the recent times Malawians have witnessed the inclusion of armoured vehicles on the country’s presidential convoy each time the head of state travels.

And it is Against this background that this piece of writing is produced, but only to share with Readers how some powerful leaders got ousted by the same military equipment they used each time they had differences with their subjects.

And do these boys called cadets know that every State President, by virtue of being a State President becomes the defacto Commander-In-Chief (CIC) of that country’s State armed forces (police and army)?

When they realise this, perhaps they will realise that Robert Mugabe was also CIC of the armed forces which toppled him. Sudan’s former President Omar al-Bashir was also CIC of the armed forces in Sudan but they toppled him.
The list is a long one because Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh and Lawrent Kabila were also the CIC of the armed forces which backed the citizens in their protests and subsequently removed them from power.

This piece of writing won’t be complete if the theory of Sadam Hussein and other notorious leaders around the world who had the similar smell goes in mentioned.

The State armed forces are NEVER created or trained to be puppets. They draw their discipline and resolve from the sacred law – which is the Constitution. Every peace loving and law abiding citizen including the cadets should really know this.

This is my story and I hope it shall be yours as well, and let us keep on telling this story to the young ones until the generations to come knows that we existed and we were there,

And surely this should continue to linger in our minds……
