Leicester, England. (News of The South) – After months of no international gigs, Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom are looking forward to an action packed Easter weekend thanks to Y2K Promotions who have flown in Zimbabwe’s finest artists, Baba Harare, Aleck Macheso, Winky D, Mambo Dhuterere, Nox Guni, Selmor Mtukudzi and the high jumping Jah Signal.



With an interesting varied line up there is a bit for everyone, this will see Mambo Dhuterere perform in the UK for the very first time and fans are in for some serious entertainment. Zimbabweans and non Zimbabweans from all corners of the United Kingdom will meet in Leicester at the Athena on Friday night, April 15 and at the O2 Indigo in London for the family show on Saturday April 16.

SAMA Festival Promoters Y2K have worked tirelessly to present this event and all their hard work will be on display this weekend. With a good track record Y2K have so far been the best Zim UK music promoters and are closely followed by Zimfest. Fred Matenga onw if tge Y2K Directors was on Thursday putting final touches and working closely with the artists in leicester city so fans can enjoy the event according to the usual Y2K high and professional standards they are used to. Alexander Mharapara also A Director at Y2K ensured that ticket sales continued to flow as fans keep buying advance tickets.

Diaspora Funeral cash plan are the event sponsors and they happen to be celebrating 10 years in business. They have lined up a lot of giveaways for the fans to be presented in Leicester and London according to Diaspora Funeral Cashplan CEO Jeff Madzingo who spoke to News of The South on Wednesday.



News of The South managed to catch up with Aleck Macheso in Leicester on Thursday, Macheso spoke about how his music and Borrowdale dance moves are being used for fitness and aerobics sessions in Zimbabwe. Many are inspired by the music and motivated by the dance style similar to a dancing horse.
Doors will open at 7pm in Leicester and at O2 Indigo doors are expected to open at 1pm. Fans are encouraged to come early so they don’t miss out on some of the early performances.
