Bajan singer Rihanna, 26 has been sued for defamation by her former bodyguard.
Former bodyguard Geoffrey Keating filed in a suit in Ireland claiming Rihanna made ‘nauseatingly offensive’ false statements about him in an email last year. He claims the email was sent to him and his wife.
Keating claims Rihanna made similar statements in a phone call to Keating’s sister the same month.
Keith Spencer the lawyer representing Keating received permission from the court to serve Rihanna with notice of the lawsuit in America on Monday .
Spencer said his client was head of security while Rihanna was on tour between October 2012 and July 2013.
Keating, in his lawsuit alleged that the singer’s statements have gravely injured his reputation and business.
The lawsuit was seeking unspecified damages and a court order directing Rihanna to publish a correction of the alleged defamation.
