Russia will not lose the war in Ukraine and neither would NATO backed Ukraine win the war. The roots of that war go as far back as 1924 with the creation of Ukraine by Russian leader Lenin and its key control of the Dardanels and Bosphorus straits to the warm water port through the Black sea, through 1945 with the emergence of cold war, and 1950s with emergence of NATO and Warsaw Pact, through the 1962 Cuban crisis when America protested the placing of missiles by Russian leader Khruschev in Cuba, through the collapse of Soviet Union in the late 1980s and NATO’s expansionist policy to former Soviet Union states in Eastern Europe and breach of Nuclear policy agreement with Russia. Put simply, the extention of NATO friendship to Ukraine and placing of NATO missiles on the Russian border is a threat to Russian security just as the placing of Russian missiles in Cuba was to USA. Even today America will not accept the placing of Russian missiles in Mexico and Canada.
Ukraine has become a punchimg bag of super power conflict and both sides are to blame. American expansionist policy has led to Ukraine to be reckless, throwing caution to the wind in its diplomatic relations with Russia, let alone in dealing with many of its nationals that have deep racial and historic ties with Russia. Russian fear of NATO has also triggered an extra defensive posture of attacking a neighbouring independent country, viz, Ukraine. Far from weakening Putin, the war may be a rallying point diverting public opinion from domestic problems into a successful war in Ukraine. This is a classical device of dictators.
A bipolar world is better than a unipolar world. No side will win the war in Ukraine and ultimately negotiations will decide the outcome. And both sides are to blame for the war, including the whole block of Western Europe and America.
