Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – Members of the public have been warned against being hoodwinked by opportunists who are flocking into the country ahead of the 2018 elections claiming they have solutions, according to the MDC National Deputy Treasurer General Charlton Hwende.

Speaking in the aftermath of former Industry Minister Nkosana Moyo launching his Alliance for People’s Agenda (APA) party at Meikles in Harare, Hwende lamented the opportune moves being made by people who fled when the heat got high politically.

“A lot of the people now claiming to have solutions to bring change in Zimbabwe disappeared when the dictatators brutality was at its peak”

“They went out of the country to make money whilst Morgan Tsvangirai remained fighting for a better life for all”.

“Now because of Mugabe’s advanced age and the improved political environment in the country they are now back armed with properties in and outside the country and cash to hoodwink Zimbabweans to ditch Tsvangirai” he said.

The pained Hwende accused some local opposition leaders of actually wishing that Tsvangirai die so that they reap the benefits of his work.

“Some even wish death to Tsvangirai but they must know that it is the toiling masses that put Tsvangirai at the helm of the democratic struggle and they will make sure he wins in 2018”

“That position is non negotiable its born out of a covenant with the masses”, he warned.

Hwende’s words also echo those said by the party ‘s Vice President Nelson Chamisa at a rally in Chitungwiza recently.

Addressing a very large gathering of supporters the Kuwadzana legislator called for fellow opposition party leaders to come and follow behind Tsvangirai in the 2018 elections instead of doing their own things.

The MDC leader is widely regarded as the face of opposition politics in Zimbabwe having gone through some brutal experiences at the hands of the Mugabe regime in his decades long fight for change in the economically destroyed country.

Tsvangirai is also the only politician to have contested and beaten Mugabe at the polls.
