COLLABOETRY By BLESSING MASORA, STEVENS CADET, ALBERT SITHOLE and DONALD KUUTSI

[ALBERT SITHOLE ZIM]

Madiba!
Father!
Tata!
African father
From the far side of the African plains of Basotholand ,
Spring the liberator,

Poised, firm and erect to free the soil,
To unchain the silver cuffs in our necks,
Open floodgates,
You are captain of victory,
Tata you are the butterfly of togetherness,
A seed of our own,
Selfless and diligent,
Servant of the land,
Son of the soil!

[STEVENS CADET U.S.A]

Cave paintings on the wall, reflecting greatness throughout our generation
Our periodic times to the ones who shall find these poems
And dissect there very making and meaning
Archaeologist, thousands of years from now
Shall still feel the impact of this story
Carving his mind out through this cave
His cage became historic

His bars rusted and free at last he was
These paintings that he painted was used with his tooth brush
The pipes that was his sink, through time collected dust
Still the soils, and seeds he planted grew and then blossomed
A silent war inside, how could he have survived?
And be so monumental, these paintings glorify his life
These archaeologist here in 2145, thought we were all giants
For the triumph and mountains he has climbed
One day, as our bones fade away
And all we have to represent what man became
Was the paintings on a wall, plotting out everything he became

R.I.P. Nelson Mandela

[DONALD KUUTSI –ZIM]

Son of the soil Tata Madiba,
African lion,
African champion,
Born to make it happen,
Manhood is achieved in the battle field,
But his mind was the battlefield
Charged with wisdom, armed with words
Manhood was achieved behind bars
Silent war behind bars but louder than the sonic bang
For 27 years,

Clamouring for freedom day and night
Persecuted for his beliefs
The iron yoke was loosened,
Freedom,
Delivering us to the Promised Land,
Out of the oppressive bondage
His revolution completed the struggle,
Today we enjoy the fruits of his revolution,

[BLESSING MASORA -ZIM]
Inspiration
Motivation
Freedom!!
Engraved in our hearts and mind,
All because of you, we now have the courage
Be the people we are supposed to be,
Do the unimaginable,
The things we never hoped achieve,

You became our father,
Mother,
Sister,
Brother,
Friend indeed,

In the times of darkness and sorrow,
You proved to be a role model,
Not a rolling model,
Without a fixed direction,
Your soul might be resting,
But your words will continue to move us to build us,
And inspire us,
May your kind Soul rest in peace.
