Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) – The world is in motion and the tourism trajectory wheels continue to overlap all other various sectors of the society hence the need to scale up its efficiency through enterprise creation and infrastructural development.

These are among the chief issues to be galvanised as an area of focus at the ongoing Conference on World Tourism Forum in Angola which Hon Prisca Mupfumira is attending in her capacity as the African Tourism Minister of the Year.

Globally, tourism continues to experience growth and deepening ‎diversification, becoming one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world.

It contributes to the socio-economic progress of many nations through export revenues, jobs and enterprise creation and infrastructure development.

According to the January 2019 issue of the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, international tourist arrivals grew by 6% in 2018 to reach a total of 1.4 billion from the 1.3 billion recorded in the previous year of 2017.

The UNWTO Tourism Vision 2020, projects tourism to grow at an average annual rate of 3.8% by 2020 and forecasts international tourist arrivals worldwide to reach nearly 1.8 billion by 2030, which is about three and half times the arrivals recorded in 1995.
