UK Premier League Manager of the month for August is Liverpool`s Brendan Rodgers while Daniel Sturridge is player of the month.
The two were rewarded for the Reds 100% start to the season where they recorded back to back 1 – 0 wins over Stoke City and Aston Villa.

It was 24 year old Sturridge who scored the goals in both games and in four matches has scored five goals so far.
Manger Rodgers has managed to lead his team to the top of the leaugue and Liverpool`s former boss Gerard Houllier has confidence that Rodgers will bring victory to Anfield.

“I like his philosophy because it goes well with the Liverpool culture,” said Houllier. “I like his passing game and also their results this season. They’re top of the league and I hope they can stay there for as long as possible.

“I was impressed by their solid resilience and team spirit. When you win 1-0 you can’t say the result is easy; you’ve got to fight and they’ve showed they’re capable of doing that.” said Houllier.
