Libyan Prime Minister Freed
Libyan Prime Minister, Ali Zeidan has been freed several hours after he was seized at dawn by more than 100 armed men from luxury Corinthia Hotel where he lives under tight conditions with other government officials a place considered the safest in Tripoli.

The Prime Minister was taken to the anti-crime department of the Interior Ministry and released around noon.
The Libyan Revolutionaries Operations Room said, the kidnapping was a reprisal for the government’s role in the capture of Al Qaeda suspect by US forces at the weekend.

Although the Justice Minister Shalal Al Marghani denied this, the militia claimed it was acting on the orders from the prosecutor general.

“The arrest was illegal and those responsible must be punished,” said the Justice Minister.
There is growing pressure on the Libyan government to explain if it was involved in the raid by the US special forces on foreign soil.

It was still unclear whether the militia released the Prime Minister voluntarily or not. The Prime Minister has appeared on TV where he gave a statement about his abduction and release.
