To help fans prepare for Rugby World Cup 2015, England Rugby 2015, the Tournament Organising Committee, has developed a Spectator Journey Planner which allows fans to find the best way to get to match venues and Fanzones.

As Rugby World Cup 2015 tickets start to be despatched, ticket holders are being encouraged to start planning their travel now via the Spectator Journey Planner. The user-friendly journey planner informs fans of additional travel options in place to assist them on their journeys during the Tournament. Available at www.rugbyworldcup.com/journeyplanner, it also provides links to the transport providers so that fans can book tickets directly.

With 4.3 million extra journeys expected across the 44 day event, the transport networks in and around the Host Cities will be busier than normal, so fans are being advised to plan their travel in advance.

The transport arrangements for all of the 13 venues will be different to normal match days, with some changes and additions to existing services. These include:

No parking at the majority of match venues (except for those with booked Blue Badge spaces)

There will be Park & Ride or Park & Walk services in place (these must be booked in advance)

Shuttle buses will be provided or original services enhanced
Train services will be enhanced where possible with extra, longer or later running trains
Managed access or road closures in some cities in and around match venues

Transport information for each of the venues are now available at www.rugbyworldcup.com/travel. Fans are encouraged to check even if they are regular visitors to the host cities or match venues.

Managing Director of England Rugby 2015, Steve Brown, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming fans to Rugby World Cup 2015. We want fans to enjoy every element of their Tournament experience which is why we have worked hard to create a detailed Spectator Journey Planner to help people get to and from match venues.

“As Rugby World Cup 2015 tickets start to arrive through people’s letterboxes, and with higher demand expected across numerous transport networks in each city, we encourage fans to start planning their journeys now, using the Spectator Journey Planner.

“Travel plans and services will differ to ‘normal’ match days in the host cities in line with higher demand expected across numerous transport networks, we encourage fans to use tools such as the Spectator Journey Planner and to make their travel arrangements now. Changes and additions to existing services include enhanced train services, including longer or later running trains, shuttle buses to venues and Park & Ride facilities on offer.”

During the Tournament fans will also be able to get the latest live Tournament travel information by following @RWC2015Travel on Twitter. The account will be dedicated to travel updates across all 13 match venues and Host Cities, helping people get to the matches with real time travel insight and advice.
