Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-Donald Trump’s new administration has been shaken with the resignation of national security advisor Michael Flynn who left his job on Monday with hinted suspicions of unclear dealings with the Russian government.

Flynn is accused by some quarters of having lied to Vice President Mike Pence and other officials concerning his dealings with Russia.

With less than one month in office Trump’s administration is now saddled with the matter of a security advisor who gave incomplete information to Pence about his discussions with the Russian Ambassador concerning sanctions slapped upon Putin’s Gvt by the outgoing Obama administration.

This matter comes up just after the Trump administration suffered another strategic blow with its recent legal defeat over immigrations bans and the noise concerning Trump’s unsavoury antics during a phone call with the Australian Prime Minister.

President Trump has since named Lt. Gen Keith Kellogg as acting national security advisor as he considers a number of permanent candidates for the post.

The resigned Flynn has also previously been flagged as a supposedly compromised individual with a Justice Department last month notifying Trump of this as a result of contradictions between public depictions of calls with Russia against what intelligence officials knew.

The resignation of Flynn serves to unsettle an already shaky admin which has had a rocky start to business with constant accusations of contradictory messages from the new administration.

The White House is also currently mired in the controversy of its failed immigration executive order, which has been blocked by the courts.

The order was intended to suspend the nation’s refugee program and bar citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.
