CHRIS BROWN has been forced to cancel his tour of Australia after his visa was denied, it emerged today (Dec 2).
The Zero singer, whose Hell Of A Nite tour was due to kick off this month, has found it hard to shake his domestic violence conviction against former girlfriend Rihanna.
Ticketek Australia released a statement on Wednesday confirming the cancellation, stating: “Chris Brown’s December 2015 tour in both Australia and New Zealand will not take place.”
“Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future,” it read.
“He wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”
The ticket sales company added they would be refunding all fans who purchased tickets to the shows.
Brown has yet to take to social media to announce the sudden cancellation, but continues to promote his latest single across Twitter and Instagram.
In September, the 26-year-old took to Twitter to address the issue for the first time after it became publicly known that he had struggled to be approved entry.
“I would be more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence,” he wrote to his 15.2 million followers at the time.
“I’m not the pink elephant in the room anymore. My life mistakes should be a wake-up call for everyone. Showing the world that mistakes don’t define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse”.
Despite the visa woes, Ticketmaster resumed selling seats for Brown’s tour, which would have seen him perform in Perth and Brisbane, with tickets ranging from $201 to $598.
