The 2014 World Cup hosts the Selecao have moved up two places to occupy position four in the Fifa World ranking, while Spain continue to lead the way slightly ahead of Germany and Portugal.

Brazil have jumped above South American opponents Colombia and Uruguay into their best position since 2011.

The hosts are now the leading team in the Conmebol Confederations in the rankings, with Argentina behind Colombia (fifth) And Uruguay (sixth) and seventh respectively.

Switzerland, Italy and Greece complete the top 10 list.

Surprisingly England occupy 11th position, Netherlands (15th) and France (16th) all have to settle for spot outside the top 10.

Ivory Coast remain the highest ranked African nation in 21st place, only just ahead of Egypt (24th) and Algeria (25th).

The 2014 World Cup starts on June 12 in Sao Paulo and ends on July 13 and the final set of rankings to be released prior to the commencement of the major showcase.
