HARARE,Zimbabwe.(News of the South) On Saturday at least 21 passengers were injured in an accident, as the Zupco bus driver lost control of the stir wheel.

National spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the driver failed to negotiate a curve which caused the bus to overturn.
“The driver of the Changu bus contracted to Zupco had 21 passengers on board. On approaching a curve near Rugare traffic lights along Lytton Road, the driver lost control of the bus and it veered off the road before overturning once.
Police were called in. The injured were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital for treatment.”
At the point in time, no one is certain as to why the bus driver lost control and the bus is now at the Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) for inspection.
Lately, Zupco busses have been involved in numerous accidents. Few weeks ago another ZUPCO bus at the Mupedzanhamo traffic lights rammed into 8 cars and injured 10 people including vendors selling their wares by the roadside.
Meanwhile, everyone is questioning how the government could hire these busses without checking whether they are fit for the road or not and the public is worried about their safety now.
The police is investigating further into this matter.
