HARARE – (News of The Souuh) – Zimbabwe has recorded five more Covid-19 recoveries, taking to 23, the tally of people who have healed since the first case was recorded in late March, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said.
The Ministry confirmed the latest recoveries in its Saturday daily update issued early morning today.

“Five new recoveries were reported from Bulawayo today,” it said.

However, this means the country currently has 29 active Covid-19 cases.
“To date the total number of confirmed cases remains at 56, recovered 23, active cases 29 and four deaths, since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020,” it said.

Of the, 1 426 tests conducted countrywide yesterday, no cases tested positive for Covid-19.

“Today 1 284 RDT screening tests and 142 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 36 538 (21 202 RDT and 15 336 PCR).
Zimbabwe extended the 2nd Level lockdown indefinitely with a plea to conduct fortnightly reviews. The southern African nation has since made it mandatory for citizens to wear masks in the interest of safeguarding public health.
