Johannesburg, South Africa – Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, the 45-year-old Zimbabwean-born British national accused of murdering his wife and two daughters in the United Kingdom, appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday following his arrest in Kensington, Johannesburg.

Tshuma is accused of killing his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma (42), and their daughters Natalie (15) and Nala (5) at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, before fleeing the UK. British prosecutors have approved three murder charges against him.

During Monday’s court appearance, the case was postponed to 22 July 2026 while South African authorities verify his immigration status and continue extradition proceedings requested by the United Kingdom. Tshuma remains in custody.

South African police say he was arrested in a joint operation involving Interpol and the South African Police Service (SAPS). In addition to the UK murder charges, he is also facing a separate South African charge of illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm, an offence that could carry a sentence of up to 15 years if convicted.

Investigators believe Tshuma travelled from the UK shortly before the bodies were discovered and was later located in Johannesburg after an international manhunt.
