ZIFA Faces Heavy Test Ahead In Saturday Elections
By Nomore Chinoda
Some would call it a d-day for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) however, the board is under scrutiny in Saturday’s ZIFA Presidential elections.
This follows corruption that has dogged past polls.
The elections will be the first real big test for Zimbabwe’s football democracy as all eyes will be on the goings on.
The polls came after the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sport, Arts and Culture was told of wide spread corruption that has Characterised past ZIFA elections.
Curthbert Dube will be seeking to defend his post.
Other candidates vying for the post are, Harare City Chairman Leslie Gwindi, ZIFA board member Nigel Munyati and former ZIFA President Trevor Carelse-Juul.
