Tinoonga Mawere|Zanu PF youth league official, Brian Munyoro has warned overcharging retailers to stop exploiting hapless customers by demanding unreasonably high prices.
Munyoro is the Zanu PF provincial youth league chairperson for Masvingo Province.
This comes after the hiking of prices by retailers in Masvingo Province.
While retailers cite fuel costs as the major reason for price increases, the ruling party, Zanu PF insists enemies of the state are working with the opposition to sabotage economic recovery plans.
“Our message to retailers is very clear, please desist from exploiting consumers.
We have managed to conduct a survey and we can reveal that suppliers have not changed prices of basic goods.
We really wonder why these unscrupulous retailers are exploiting consumers. We will soon confront overcharging retailers if they do not adjust their prices,” said Munyoro.
