YoungLEAD commitment to ensure youth participation
By Chiedza Yakobe YoungLEAD Chairperson.
LEAD is reclaiming Zimbabwe by ensuring that no Youth is left behind in any sector of business and in Politics. Young people constitute over 60% of the population of Zimbabwe yet they are excluded from key decision making processes which also affect their livelihoods.
The gallant sons and daughters of the soil who perished in the second Chimurenga liberation struggle died for land to be allocated to all Zimbabweans regardless of political party affiliation, age, tribe or gender. They died for equal opportunities for all Zimbabweans and for every Zimbabwean to be free. The onus is on us Young people to ensure that the true gains of the liberation struggle are protected by ensuring that any form of exclusion is eradicated and every young person will have any opportunity to be gainfully employed or freely engaged in a business project of his /her own choice. We will not allow central government to keep on assaulting people who are trying to make an honest living by vending. As young people we are now demanding allocation of land to our generation to rebuild our agrobased economy and to resuscitate our economy. We are tired of suffering, tired of poverty, tired of destitution and hopelessness.
Hatichada kurongerwa hupenyu hwedu nemadhara. Nothing for us without us. Takuda chunhu chedu.
