Buffaloes woes continue following their dismal performance against Triangle in a mid week match played last week, where the military men were hammered 1-5 at Triangle.
Ndombolo who locked horns again last Sunday against visiting Highlanders were hammered 1-3 in their own backyard.
The demise of Buffaloes against Bosso seemed to be the genesis of Mutare’s Premier Soccer League outfit’s free fall as they have conceded a massive eight goals in two consecutive matches.
The free fall seems to be an indication of a porous rear guard on Luke Masomere’s boys. Bosso had the better half of the ball possession unsettled Buffaloes in the 16th minute when Bosso defender Peter Moyo dispossessed Buffaloes forward Jacob Muzokomba.
Moyo made a long pass from the back to Charles Sibanda who outpaced Buffaloes defence linkman Tafadzwa Mombeshora and left back Moses Gutu before unleashing a long cross from the left wing past goalkeeper Blessing Mwandimutsira, giving Bosso an early lead.
The super charged Highlanders missed a lot of yawning chances in the first 45minutes. Striker Eric Mudzingwa missed the net when he shot a brace on target but was cleared out of danger by Mwandimutsira in the 20th minute.
Masomere’s boys levelled the scoreline with a free kick delivered by Jacob Muzokomba in the 47th minute. Kelvin Kaindu’s boys put an accelerated pedal with Charles Sibanda adding his name on the score-sheet eight minutes later.
Blessing Mwandimutsira who prior to the two matches had managed to maintain a clean sheet, had a busy day in office.
Buffaloes tried to make a comeback but again were punished after a cross that curved past but was deflected by Phillip Chandisaita, sending Mwandimutsira the wrong direction and consequently leading to an own goal just after the hour mark.
No amount of explanation could pacify Ndombolo supporters who thronged Sakubva stadium, Ndombolo’s ceremonial home of football, for the high profile match.
In an interview Buffaloes gaffer Luke ‘Vahombe’ Masomere concurred that his boys missed a lot of chances.
“We played better that in Triangle match though we missed a lot of scoring chances. The game was balanced but Bosso had better possession,” said Masomere.
His opposite number Kelvin Kaindu was a happy man as he collected the maximum points in Mutare.
“It is good we have won and managed to collect maximum points. Buffaloes is a good team and i told my boys to avoid fouls of which they played according to instruction,” said Kaindu.
