Blantyre, Malawi. (News of The South) -Malawi’s Financial Holdings Limited (FDH) Bank has introduced WhatsApp Banking to its customers which is relatively the first bank to do so.
Public Relations Officer for FDH Bank, Lorraine Lusinje said the service will enable customers to access banking services and transact safely and securely.
“FDH Bank, as a champion of growth, recognizes the role technology is playing in the industry, in development and in financial inclusion, especially in an age where WhatsApp has become a basic communication and business tool.
By saving the FDH WhatsApp Banking line 0880849079 and sending a prompt, Hi to the number, customers will be provided with an interface similar to FDH Mobile banking platform where they can select and complete various transactions,” said Lusinje.
Services on the FDH WhatsApp Banking platform include but not limited to balance enquiry, bill payments, airtime purchase and money transfers.
As technology advances apace, African financial institutions are continuously becoming more customer-centric.
Countries like Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe have already embarked on the use of Whatsapp banking services.
With Whatsapp banking services, customers are able to pay bills, check balance, transfer money, purchase products online, buy airtime and do much more while still chatting with friends.
