Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South)- Harare- Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has claimed the government is in possession of documented evidence indicating how the MDC A allegedly plotted to unleash acts of violence.
Speaking during a question and answer session in the Senate on Thursday, Mutsvangwa claimed the government had gathered overwhelming evidence of how the country’ s main opposition attempted to effect regime change through violent protests.
“Through our intelligence system we gathered concrete evidence indicating how the opposition attempted to effect regime change through organised violence. Our statements and arguments are based on documented evidence,” said Mutsvangwa.
Although Mutsvangwa was quick to condemn the abuse of women by suspected state security agents, she said due to the magnitude of violence during the mass protests, the government was compelled to use force to maintain law and order.
