News of The South can now reveal that three women were rescued in south London were they were kept as slaves at a house for more than 30 years.

An Indian, Tanzanian couple both aged 67 were arrested at the house in Lambeth, South London, for slavery and domestic servitude according to a police report.

One of the alleged victims a 30 year old Briton is said to have been in the house all her life with no contact of the outside world, police said.

“We have never seen anything of this magnitude before,” Detective inspector Kevin Hyland told a press conference.

Officers became aware of the situation after one of the women made a telephone call to a domestic abuse non profit organization called Freedom Charity.

Freedom Charity was applauded on their efforts in rescuing the slavery victims.

“We applause the action of Freedom Charity and we are working in partnership to support these victims who appear to have been held in slavery for over 30 years. We have launched an extensive investigation on the matter,” said DTV Hyland.

The woman who made a call to Freedom Charity is said to have been motivated after watching a Freedom Charity documentary on forced marriages.
