This Year is My year to Shine: Pauline Gundidza
Best Masinire

Harare – One of Zimbabwe`s top urban contemporary musicians, Pauline Gundidza, believes 2013 is her year to shine as she will be doing a couple of international collaborations with Black Uhuru from Jamaica, Symbiz from Germany and a couple of artists from the United Kingdom.

The song bird, Pauline, who recently launched a single, zvakapera wani, says she will be releasing another mouth watering single, Waiona, which she collaborated with her ex-husband, Roki, and SK Military.

“I believe this year is my year to shine because I have signed a contract with Chamhembe records and I have done some thought provoking singles, some of which are playing on the radio.”
“I will also be doing collaborations with, Symbiz from Germany, a couple of artists from the United Kingdom, and Black Uhuru will be playing on one of my songs and this means I will be travelling to Jamaica,” she said.

The soft spoken musician says her group with Tunga T and Discord called Mafriq is also working on a scorcher of an album which features a song, Kendekende, which she says words can not explain how soothing it is.

Apart from music, Gundidza has high hopes in her career as an actress and believes she is destined for great things as she featured on the latest Zimbabwean movie, Sinners, and on the yet to be released movie, Two Villages Apart.

Pauline Gundidza started singing when she was eight years old when she was selected to sing a leading part in a school play.

During her high school she led the school choir and started to venture into music and then considered music as her career option.
She then made a name in the music circles when she joined Mafrique and released a couple of hit songs like Ndichamuudza chete and chizevezeve.
