Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-A BMW 750iL in which rapper Tupac Shakur was travelling in when he was shot and killed nearly 20 years ago is set to be auctioned off.

According to a media report the car, which once belonged to Death Row Records co-founder Mario Suge Knight, has been listed by a memorabilia dealer with an asking price of $1.5 million.

With a mileage of 92 000 miles the car disappeared from public sight after Shakur’s death in 1996 and the chain of ownership is still hazy.

Tupac is one of the most influential rappers and has hits that include California Love and Dear Mama.

He was shot several times and killed by a gunman in another car whilst travelling in Las Vegas with Suge Knight in 1996.

After being taken to hospital the rapper died six days later at the age of 25 and his murder has never been resolved.
