Rabison Shumba who is the founder of Touching Lives Africa and Victor Initiative celebrates his birthday by helping the vulnerable in his community.
He is also an entrepreneur, global conference speaker and author who is passionate about building people’s leadership capacity to be able to assist the communities to address their own challenges.
Rabison said, “My desire is to celebrate my birthday in a special way. I do charity work throughout the year but on my birthday I find a special project or initiative so that on the day I celebrate with the vulnerable.”
“For this year I have come up with an initiative to impact 67 young girls with sanitary products. I normally distribute sanitary pads alone but this time the hamper for each will cover a whole range of products such as soap, sanitizer, toothbrush, toothpaste and masks among other goodies.”
Mr Shumba said he and the community initiative called Sister’s Keeper under celebration church Johannesburg would be helping the girls from Dipsloot who are also of school going age this year on the 18th of July.
He decided to do this a day earlier than his birthday in order to put it on Mandela day.
He chose that day because the legacy of Mandela is such that we are reminded to look out for others in our community which matches his agenda for his birthday.
Mr Shumba promises he will do everything possible to follow social distancing and other covid protocol as dictated by Department of Health and WHO.
