Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) It has become a trend for many governing parties in the African continent to continuously hold on to power through the voting system.

Despite returning to office for another governing term, the African National Congress (ANC) secured victory with a reduced majority.




Gunning 58 percent of vote ahead of Democratic Alliance (DA) and the radical Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) respectively became a lucid indication that ANC supporters dwindle in the number of electorates registered during the April 2019 elections came at the backdrop of a struggling economy and high levels of corruption.

The South African economy is not bad as a fragile one, but the current upsurge in the socio-economic arena that saw the majority of youths queuing on the voting line hoping to have their plight getting addressed in the post-election period.
Most of the people who are still in the youthful ages echoed sentiments expressing themselves on why they failed to vote for their bonafied ANC party.
This also included a lack of decisive mechanisms to curb corrupt activities that have been on an alarming rate in the government of their day.
“I am a member of the ANC but I didn’t vote for them this time, they need to catch a wake up, the way they run the state, mishandling state funds, they have lost their morals,” Thabo Makhene, a worker in the construction sector confided.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has remained optimistic in championing the nation building where he continues to urge everyone to remain hopeful under the essence of solidarity and unity regardless of tribe and race.

“Let us now work together, black and white men and women, young and old to build a South Africa that truly belongs to all who lives in it as proclaimed by our fore bearers .”
