Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-Bizarre pictures of a grasshopper frolicking all over President Robert Mugabe during his ceremonial drive past parading soldiers at Independence day celebrations on Tuesday have got tongues wagging.
In pictures taken by famed photographer Tsvangirayi Mukwazhi, the green grasshopper appears to be moving around the President’s body without his noticing or feeling it.
In one of the of the photos it’s on his hand as he holds onto the railing of the car, whilst in another picture it has moved to the edge of his jacket’s hand.
Most astounding is the positioning of the locust in the third photo where it has shifted to the shoulder of the other side.
Some superstitious members of the public have been quick to say the whole thing is some voodoo magic which is allowing the octogenarian leader to remain alive and ruling at an age where many are senile and reclusive.
However they can be a very ordinary explanation to the whole thing with such green grasshoppers everywhere during this passing rainy and maize harvesting season.
