President Félix Tshisekedi pays last respects to Tharcisse Kasongo Mwema Yamba-yamba
The President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, paid, this Wednesday, November 23, the last tributes to the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Congolese news agency (ACP), its former door-door, Tharcisse Kasongo Mwema Yamba Yamba, who died on November 12 in Kinshasa, following a short illness.
The public tribute ceremony was organized within the grounds of the Clinique kinoise, located in the commune of Gombe.
The Head of State and the distinguished First Lady, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi gathered in front of the coffin of the deceased and then they laid a wreath of flowers in tribute to the illustrious deceased.
The President of the Republic has signed an order posthumously elevating Tharcisse Kasongo Mwema to the rank of Grand Officer of the National Order of Kabila-Lumumba National Heroes, for loyal service rendered to the Nation.
The ceremony was marked by the funeral oration read by Christian Kasongo, eldest son of the deceased, followed by testimonies and laying of wreaths.
Several heads of the country’s institutions were present at this ceremony, including the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, some members of his government, members of the Head of State’s cabinet, as well as various Congolese media bosses.
Dead at the age of 70, Tharcisse Kasongo Mwema Yamba-yamba was spokesperson for the Head of State since April 2019 until his recent appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Congolese Press Agency (ACP), in the month of last September.
Married to Madame Hubertine Mbungu-Mwema, he left behind a widow and 3 children.
After these public tributes worthy of his rank, Tharcisse Kasongo Mwema will be buried, in strict family privacy, in the coming days.
