Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday relieved Obadiah Moyo from his post as Health minister with immediate effect.

The communique was issued today (Tuesday) by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda.



“Please, be advised that His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde ED Mnangagwa, has in terms of section 130, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 104, subsection (f) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Dr Obadiah Moyo from the office of Cabinet minister with immediate effect for the conduct inappropriate for a Government Minister,” read the statement.

Moyo was last month arrested over allegations of corruption after he allegedlly allowed “fraudster” Delish Nguwaya of
DRAX International to be paid US$60 million in a drugs procurement scandal.

The former minister is currently out on ZWL50 000 bail.
