Combative anti-corruption crusader and Norton House of Assembly representative Temba Mliswa has been justified in his previous and incessant calls for the arrest of Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira after she was called in by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commisson.
Insiders revealed that Mupfumira was called in to answer on a variety of charges most which have been in the public domain and have to do with rampant corruption at the National Social Security Authority (NSSA).
Mupfumira was in charge of the entity during her time as the Minister responsible for Social Services.
Mliswa’s calls for the arrest of Mupfumira were also recently echoed by the ZANU PF Youth League which named her among a coterie of other political bigwigs accused of indulging in corrupt activities.
In a short statement, ZACC revealed that they had indeed taken in Mupfumira.
“We can confirm that the Minister of Tourism is currently in our custody for questioning and possible due processes. We cannot respond to any questions at the moment as this is a live process. The press will be informed through a release later in the day”, it said.
