(News of The South) – Malawi has signed papers for the extradition of Shepherd Bushiri to South Africa.

Malawian attorney general gave authority on Monday for the Malawi high Court to issue a warrant of arrest so that they could face a case of fraud, theft and money laundering of R100m.

“The papers have been signed for the extradition of Mr and Mrs Bushiri and this afternoon [Monday] will be submitted to the Malawi high court for the issuing of the warrant of arrest. This means that if the court issues the warrant of arrest, the Bushiris will be arrested and extradited to South Africa,” said Malawi’s minister of information Gospel Kazako.

South Africa could be a step closer to securing the extradition of these two fugitives, who skipped SA last month after they have been granted bail.

Social media is blazing with different reactions, mocking his followers saying they will be pleased to have their Papa for Christmas.

Many are hopeful that the couple will be extradited to face their charges while others have little faith that they will be held accountable.

Meanwhile, many are now waiting on the courts decision.
