Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South)- A profound spiritual message has reverberated across Zimbabwe, with the spirit of King Munhumutapa conveying a stark warning through the traditional “Matare” courts. The ancient monarch’s pronouncements underscore a deep-seated belief that Zimbabwe’s current challenges, regardless of political leadership, stem from a neglect of ancestral traditions and spiritual guidance. The biggest challenge is that politicians are ignoring the spiritual side.

According to those present at the Matare courts in Murambinda today, King Munhumutapa’s spirit emphasized that Zimbabwe’s spiritual foundation is paramount to its progress. The message conveyed asserts that the nation is currently facing “punishment” due to its deviation from traditional practices. The spiritual realm is reportedly in turmoil, with ancestral powers locked in conflict, a situation that will persist and manifest in recurring difficulties as long as the spiritual directives are ignored. Department of tradition under ministry of tourism has received the communication, message has been conveyed to Barbra also known as Wendy and she is expected to write a report which will be presented to Presidents office.

This powerful intervention arrives at a time when Zimbabwe grapples with a multitude of socio-economic and political issues, leading many to seek solutions through political transitions and religious institutions. However, the spirit of King Munhumutapa suggests a different path, urging Zimbabweans to turn their attention back to the wisdom of their forefathers.

The echoed sentiment from the “Matare” courts is that the country’s numerous problems are inherently spiritual and cannot be resolved through conventional political or religious means alone. The focus on political figures and churches, according to this spiritual perspective, is a misdirection that overlooks the fundamental requirements laid down by the ancestors.

Furthermore, the traditional leadership, represented by the Chiefs, reportedly acknowledges the significance of this spiritual awakening. The powerful Shona proverb, “Simba repasichigare haritongwe nema politicians” – meaning “the power of the ancestors cannot be governed by politicians” – is being cited to highlight the limitations of political solutions in the face of spiritual imbalances.

The Chiefs, viewed as the “landlords” of the country in traditional contexts, are believed to hold a crucial role in facilitating this return to ancestral ways. The message from King Munhumutapa’s spirit calls for a nationwide re-engagement with traditional customs, rituals, and the guidance of the forefathers.

This spiritual intervention presents a significant challenge to the contemporary approaches being considered for Zimbabwe’s future. It suggests that true progress and stability can only be achieved when the nation acknowledges and adheres to its spiritual heritage. As Zimbabwe stands at this crossroads, the call to honour tradition and reconnect with the ancestral realm is likely to spark widespread discussion and potentially reshape the national discourse. The question now remains whether the nation will heed this spiritual call and embark on a path that prioritises the wisdom of its past. “Nyika inofanirwa kuziva kuti chii chaita kuti musoro uteme” The country should investigate and know what has caused the headache was the spiritual message from Munhumutapa spirit. The large volume of rainfall in Gokwe on independence day was described as “kusekwa kwenyika” the spirits are said to be laughing at the country and more things are said to be on the way.
