Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – The much anticipated conference on the unique African experience of labia elongation which was set to be hosted in the UK this week has been postponed according to News Of The South officials promoting it.

The conference which was set to focus on the sensitive and taboo topic of labia elongation was to be held on June 10 at Pepul Center in Leicester.

Amongst its notable panel of speakers was Dr Brighton Chireka, Justina Mutale, Flossy Kandodo and Chipo Fowereker, Faith Gakanje, Elliot Pfebve Yvette Twagiremariya.

Speaking from London one official in charge of organising Eugene Majuru said some unseen occurrences had necessitated the postponement.

“The event has been postponed due to circumstances beyond our control and the most likely date is at the end of July” she said.

Labia elongation is a rampant custom among some African tribes whom continue to enforce the inhumane practice despite some huge strides in civilisation and modernity having lifted the veil on female sexuality.

Labia elongation involves the stretching of the labia part of a female’s sexual organ.
