INF Recommends Malawian Netball Experts To Train Tanzanians

The country’s elite Netball trainers, Mary Waya and Rabecca Kawanga Dulanya have been invited to conduct a 10 day Netball coaching and umpiring training at the invitation from the Chama cha Netball Tanzania (CHANETA) in United Republic of Tanzania.
According to media reports in the Swahiri speaking nation, the two are expected to conduct an intensive elite Netball coaching and umpiring for ten days starting from 23rd February to 3rd March 2022.
CHENET’s Steven Mzee said the pair has been recommended by the Namibian based International Netball Federation (INF)’s Development Officer, Joan Smith.
“We have managed to get hold of the two elite International Netball tutor and tester through the International Netball Federation’s Development Officer, Joan Smith,” writes Abdalah Zalala of Tanzanian National Newspapers.
Both, Waya and Dulanya have confirmed having received invitations to drill the Tanzanian Netball technical officials but could not shade more light saying they need to consult first before they comment on the matter.
But commenting on the pair’s invitation to Tanzania the immediate past NAM’s Technical Director, Sam Kanyenda hailed them for their outstanding performances that is recognised at international level.
“I am not surprised, Mary Waya has been appointed Global Netball Ambassador in the recent past by the International Netball Federation, quite a very remarkable recognition, together with Dulanya they have been to a number of countries like: Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania,” said Kanyenda.
Kanyenda who is now back to his base at National Police Headquarters outfit, Blue Eagles Sisters after serving as National Netball Technical Director, also said NAM would also take advantage to utilise some of the local technical experts in preparation of the Zone-VI Netball Championship which will be held in the country in December this year.
NAM President, Abigal Sheriff could not comment on the two’s invitation to the East African country having referred this publication to NAM’s General Secretary, Isaac Chimwala who hailed the two and said the Association will soon release names of those to work in various technical positions having dissolved all its committees as required by the constitution.
“It is marvellous to see our own Netball trainers being recognised at global levels, since we are new in office but soon the list of technical officials to work in various positions will be released,” said Chimwala
On the country’s Netball team having been dislodged on its World Netball Federation’s ranking by Uganda NAM’s General Secretary blamed it on dormancy of the team from playing games on WNF’s sanctioned days.
Meanwhile, Malawi has Joseph Mazaza, Peace Chawinga, Mary Waya and Sam Kanyenda as INF accredited technical trainers while Rabecca Dulanya, Titus Wankhama, Ken Mphande and Kelita Hau are among Africa’s elite umpiring trainer and testers.
