Gender Power As Lone Woman Demonstrates Against SA Xenophobia
By Wallace Mawire.
Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) – My photo taken in 2015 shows a courageous young Zimbabwean woman approaching the much feared Zimbabwe riot police to protest against xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals by some South African citizens.
Image depicts how fear can be overcome through determination to express the need for human rights.Such an action is usually expected from young male activists, but in this instance it shows the courage of a determined young women to express her sentiments and feelings. Also the xenophobic attacks had worse consequences on the region and also affected women and children who were traumatised.
