(News of The South) – People in the UK will begin to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine on Tuesday with front-line health staff, those aged over 80 and care home workers will be first in line for the vaccine.

The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab as it is enough to vaccinate 20 million people because two doses are needed.

Front-liners to be vaccinated first would make it easier and people will be in safe hands during the process.

Also in India, the government plans to include nearly one crore health workers in the first batch of vaccine receivers, whenever a Covid-19 vaccine is approved for use in India. This will be followed by nearly two crore frontline workers (police, security personnel, municipal workers and other essential workers), until everyone is vaccinated.

In the meantime, the US will not be able to buy more doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine until late June or July, after other countries bought most of the company’s supply.
The vaccination process for many countries will likely take part next year, when there is enough in stock.

The covid-19 restrictions are still applying that is face masks all the time, sanitizing and maintaining social distancing even though the vaccine is available now.
