Charlene Robertson Back With A Bang

Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – Songstress Charlene Robertson is back from her London base and will perform at Ice King’s live gig at City Sports on the May 24. Robertson has promised her legion of fans fireworks.
In an interview with News of the South, the songbird, who has been living in the UK for quite a number of years but with regular visits back home says she never lost her Zimbabwean connection and this is quite evidenced by the songs and albums she has churned out over the years which have an unmistakable Zimbabwean feel and this goes without mentioning the song titles which include Happy land and Liberty in which she mentions her homeland vividly, parading its beauty.
Her official landing onto the musical scene dates back to the late eighties and has shared the stage with various heavy weights in the musical circles both locally and internationally including Ilanga. Ms Robertson boasts of 3 albums namely Liberty, Multi-other-side and Rhythm and is currently working on her fourth album which she has promised to release before her London Show which will be held in September this year.
Ms Robertson has reassured her fans that the show is going to be energetic and charismatic saying as she always does, will leave them begging for more. She also said this is a huge opportunity to reach out to everyone especially upcoming artists who are looking up for elevation.
“My fans should expect nothing short of a charismatic, fun and energetic show because I want to draw back all my fans and this is also a huge opportunity to work with other artists who are looking up to elevation.
“My heart is for Zimbabweans both here and in London, I never lost my background connection and it is my hope that all the music I have worked on these past years will roar to life again,” she said.
Ms Robertson says she aims to work with fellow local artists to exchange and impart each other knowledge and skills accumulated on the music journey and is especially proud to have the platform to share hers which she acquired in the Diaspora.
A former teacher at Zimbabwe College of Music and her genre is a mixture of African and Western Urban music, Ms Robertson has urged her fellow musicians to work hard and support others.
