Barack Obama has been a failed black American President for some sections of the black world.
Under his reign police in America have continued killing unarmed black guys and the black guy has generally remained stashed at the bottom end of the ditch.
It was preposterous in the first place to think two terms of his presidency could change decades of unbalanced scales of the American society. So as the Kenyan man with Caribbean traces and an American ID prepares to vacant White House, to be replaced by Mrs Clinton, or the eccentric Trump, the black man continues his trudge.
However Barack seems to have hit upon a lane of bringing back some hard bad guys into the American embrace years after the initial differences which split tem away from the Big Brother.
Pictures of Obama and Raul Castro shaking hands as tiny Cuba got the big American hug, had a false gloss to them under titles and banners eulogizing friendship and diplomacy winning against other uncivilized notions that had brought differences before.
Cuba doesn’t seem like a repentant communist about to gulp a whole piece of capitalism and freedom of speech.
According to USA Engage the sanction imposed on Cuba about 56 years ago were simply useless.
“Sanctions on Cuba are the lengthiest and least successful sanctions”.
Obama has however gone on and patted dear old Raul’s back whilst easing off the gas of restrictions. Fine each dog has its day.
Iran is another crinkled sore thumb sticking out from the global village’s agitated palm. It has been adamant its nuclear program is all civilian and electricity oriented and please let us have bright bulbs. Nothing sinister here.
Dear Obama has agreed to a deal though federal sanctions still prohibit US citizens from most transactions and business dealings with Iran. One of the imminent results of the hug in the heat of Arabian deserts has been the release of prisoners.
They have been reports of freed Americans being airlifted to freedom from Iran. Good for them.
Another nation just basking in the glow of Obama’s campaign is Mynmar, formerly called Burma.
I met the country first in Biyi Bandele’s comedic novel, A King’s Rifle and didn’t like the painted environment and its dense forests. I like the African sun more. Obama has liked the political changes in the tiny country.
The American line is that easing sanctions for Myanmar is a strong signal of the US’ support for reform following Burma’s historic elections last November and the transition of power away from the military.
Obama has been patting many guys around the world that even Trump doesn’t like it.
However Obama has not find time and mercy to remember some other small country called Zimbabwe saddled with vexing restrictions or sanctions or targeted sanctions or hindrances or the f**k is wrong with this country.
ZANU PF, the ruling party, says they are sanctions and has been winning elections with that war cry. Never mind it’s a baby whimper for mercy.
The opposition has meanwhile been crusading that nothing of that kind exists and all there is in relation to animals of that kind are targeted sanctions which cant affect my grandmother in the rural areas.
According to them targeted sanctions are specially made RPG’s with homing devices aimed straight for the dictators and his friend’s bottom pound of flesh. No shrapnel can reach an innocent me.
None of the two definations have made sense in a country without a currency. Without cash, though your bank balance says something positive. And without a statement from Obama about what he is planning for us to down hear in the boondocks.
Zimbabwe has a new constitution. Zimbabwe has a reshuffled cabinet never mind the changes are driven by scandals, it’s something still.
And we have a more dynamic political environment whereby ruling party politicians are fighting amongst themselves.
That’s progress which warrants Obama coming down here and doing the Raul with President Mugabe so at to remove whatever animal they stapled upon this tiny country with plenty of everything and much of nothing.
Some vague animal called Bond notes is coming and everyone is fretting however Obama can come down here and ease or change or remove sanctions for some betterment. We are no worse than Raul and have no jihads here.
