Today, I would like to take a moment to sincerely appreciate the tremendous work being done by the Zimbabwe Embassy in the particularly under the leadership of His Excellency Ambassador Katsande. Since his appointment, we have witnessed a significant and positive shift, especially in the increased involvement of young people in embassy programmes and national development initiatives.
As a young person, I am truly grateful to the Ambassador for introducing a new and refreshing push for youth engagement. This initiative has brought with it a renewed sense of belonging, pride, and purpose among the younger generation. It is empowering to see our voices being heard, our potential recognised, and our participation encouraged. The confidence you have shown in us is not only inspiring , it is essential to our growth and success as future leaders.
Now more than ever, it is vital for us as young people to seize the opportunities being presented. We must rise to the occasion and actively take part in shaping the future of Zimbabwe.
I especially want to applaud the creation of youth focused clusters such as the Engineering, Health, Sports, and Finance clusters. These are not just structures on paper; they are practical platforms for skill development, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the diaspora. These clusters keep us connected while also serving as a record of the talent and expertise that exists within the Zimbabwean community abroad. This is crucial, especially in contributing to national development through consultancy, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
As you continue to involve us in these programmes, Your Excellency, you are instilling in us a deep sense of patriotism and belonging. We feel heard. We feel included in conversations that matter.
Your Excellency, I sincerely hope we as diaspora youths will rise to the occasion and not let you down after such a strong show of support from your office. We also hope that these engagements will evolve into tangible results that impact both the diaspora and our homeland in real, measurable ways.
As I conclude, I want to encourage all my fellow youths , Let’s take these opportunities seriously. They are pathways to being part of decision making spaces that shape our collective future. Let us rally together, join these exciting initiatives, and contribute meaningfully to the realisation of Vision 2030. Together, we can build a brighter, stronger Zimbabwe.
Thank you, Ambassador Katsande, for believing in us. The journey has just begun and the future is ours to shape.
I thank you.
