Luanda, Angola. (News of The South) – Over 700 000 children remain outside the education system in Angola. This was revealed yesterday by Luanda’s provincial governor Sergio Rescova.

After the inauguration of a primary school in the new settlement of Zango 5, Rescova informed that for the next school year they expect to open 11 new schools in the province with a capacity for 13 000 students.

“By the beginning of next school year, we expect to open eleven new schools in the province with a capacity for over 13 000 students.

Even here in Zango we are aware of a room with only one teacher and more than 60 students.
There is a lot of work to do and we should not sit back. More than talking, in Luanda we really have to work,” said Rescova.

Primary schools and a high school, an industrial polytechnic institute and another school for the training of health technicians have since been built, offering a total of 132 classrooms in the newly opened community of Zango 5.
