Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) -Annually Zimbabwe joins the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa Day on May 25 which exonerates in the founding of African Union in 1963.
JM Busha 54 Races has maintained it’s tradition to celebrate the day with various sporting activities with the quest to promote peace and unity in Africa through sports.
Addressing members of the media at a press conference held in the capital today Board Member of the JM Busha 54 Races Tichawana Nyahuma said that the Third Edition of the games will run under the theme STEP UP TO PEACE and extends invitations to individuals of all ages, corporates, institutions to take part in the momentous event.
“JM BUSHA 54 RACES Zimbabwe is delighted to be hosting the Third Edition of the games whose themes this year is STEP UP TO PEACE ! Accordingly we encourage individuals, young, and old, corporates, institutions, to step up to peace building, unity and coexistence.”
The initiative is set to commence at a tune of RTGS 60 500 investment package with major changes made on the distance which has been made short from 54 KM to 21KM with additional 1.6 KM set aside for the yoing runners.
“Total prize for 2019 is RTGS 60 500 invested significantly in these games, we have also reduced the distance of the main race from 64KM to 21KM but have added 1.6 for young runners in a bid to encourage the younger generation to participate without jeopardizing thier careers in the long run.”
Registration to the athletic event is currently underway being held at Africa Unity Square while golfers are served through ZPGA and CEO Africa Roundtable.
