Peter Mutharika, Presidential candidate of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has finally come out to speak on his sexual orientation.

In an interview with the media, Mutharika who has for long been said to be gay by his political opponents owing to his being single has said that what his political opponents are saying is not the truth.

“I am not gay, I have never been gay and will never be gay,” Mutharika has been quoted as saying.

Mutharika went further to say that he will marry again if God would consent to his plans.

Mutharika who claims to be a widower and a father of three children has had his family life put under scrutiny for nobody aside his inner circle has ever seen his children.

His three children who are also said to be lawyers like him failed to turn up at the funeral of Mutharika’s elder brother Bingu and never did they show up when their father was arrested. This, critics said, was a clear indication that Mutharika was a man with no family and plainly gay.

Of late, Mutharika has been seen close with former Balaka North legislator who is also the DPP’s candidate for the area, Getrude Maseko.

In the past he had been linked to activist Seodi White, businesswoman Anne Fletcher and Parliamentarian then Anna Kachikho.

This is the first time that Mutharika has answered the question of his sexual orientation publicly and without any equivocation. – Face Of Malawi
